Lauren Koek
Co-founder, Chair
Lauren, a third-year student at Singapore Management University, is a passionate advocate for helping young minds unearth their true passions, regardless of their chosen path. Pursuing a degree in Computing and Law with a second major in Innovation and Psychology, she embodies the fusion of diverse interests into a transformative force.
Since 2019, Lauren has channelled her boundless enthusiasm into real-world experiences, interning with innovative startups like Gradient Venture Studio and Intelllex, where she learnt about the art of leading more efficient startup operations. This summer, she ignited her entrepreneurial spirit through programs like McGill’s Dobson Entrepreneurial Women Lean Startup and SMU’s Summer Venture Award. Her unyielding commitment recently propelled her into SMU IIE’s BIG incubator program, where she's shaping an exciting project poised to change the game.
Outside her academic and entrepreneurial pursuits, Lauren thrives in nature, finding inspiration through swimming, hiking, and embracing the world's wonders (MOUNTAINS). Her story radiates an inspiring message of relentless pursuit, innovation, and a fervent desire to guide others towards their ultimate passions.

Susan, also known as Suzy, is a Gr.11 student at St. Robert Catholic High School, enrolled in the IB program! She’s a big fan of the arts, and you can always catch her conversing about anything art related! In her free time, you can catch her listening to music, singing, dancing, watching tv shows, reading, writing, or playing badminton! Fun fact about her is she has a wonderful dog named Sunny, who is the sunshine of her life! She can’t wait to see what the new year brings FLI!

Shania Winter
Content and Research Specialist
Shania, who is a second year student at the University of Toronto, has a love for anything true crime and writing. Due to this weird yet fascinating mix, she is currently pursuing a double major in Criminology and Sociology with a minor in Spanish (due to her love for the language). By being a part of FLI, she hopes to meet and connect with ardent, like-minded individuals whilst sharing legal knowledge and opportunities along the way.

Jasmine Chen is a grade 11 student currently attending the IB program at St. Robert Catholic High School. Zoie is currently studying Philosophy at Wilfrid Laurier University, with the hopes of attending law school in the future. At Future Lawyers International, she assumes the role of the graphics lead.

Elizabeth McGraw
External Outreach Co-Lead
Elizabeth is a third year student at Dalhousie University pursuing a double major in pre-law and economics. She is passionate about making a legal career seem less daunting to incoming students. Elizabeth herself is working towards attending law school and wants to help provide resources and support for all other students with this same aspiration. Elizabeth is heavily involved in her University and is on the executive board of several campus societies and is Co-President of her school’s pre-law society. She is also involved in the Canadian Law Review.
Outside of school and extracurriculars, Elizabeth can be found writing or being active! She is also a fan of true crime documentaries and often watches these as she does her house work.

Tamer is a fourth year student at Saint Mary's University. He is a Political Science major with a passion for legislation and business. He hopes to go to law-school and study corporate law. Tamer loves serving the community as a volunteer for a number of charitable organizations including ISANS and March of Dimes. In his free time he develops his graphic design skills and engages in entrepreneurial activities.

Collin Robertson is in grade 11 at Halifax West high school. Collin has always been interested in the legal field as there have been many people involved in the field in his life and all of them love what they do and at the end of the day they feel like they have helped someone or changed peoples lives for the better and that is something that he would like to be able to do. In his freetime you can find Collin in the woods building Mountain trails with friends, on the slopes snowboarding on the freshly groomed snow, or trying to get that one song perfect on the drums.

Lucas found himself hooked on law after attending a chambers hearing in the state courts as a secondary 4 student. Now an incoming law undergraduate, he hopes that more aspiring law students can experience the thrill he had, and start their journey in law. When not brainstorming legal arguments, he loves teaching, acting and travelling the world, but somehow always finds his way back to law, in some way or another.

With what first started as an obsession with Suits, Darrell found himself hooked on the intricacies of the law and its moral implications. An enjoyer of jurisprudence and philosophy, you can often find him in spontaneous debates and discussions with friends on questions about the meaning of life. He hopes to make legal knowledge more accessible so Netflix shows don’t remain the only avenue for curious teenagers to find out more about the law!

Additionally, she is passionate about animal rights and hopes to raise awareness about potential legislative gaps in animal welfare laws through advocacy at FLS.

Binrui is a Year 5 student from RI, taking history, econs, literature and math. In his free time, he enjoys playing badminton and basketball with his friends, but more importantly sleeping. Choon Wei became interested in the law after interning at a law firm in J1, where he experienced firsthand the dynamics of legal practice and developed an appreciation for the role of law in resolving real-world issues. Her fascination with the law originated from her analysis of China’s political system and its complexities regarding legal enforcement. This sparked her interest to delve into various legal systems and areas of law. In her free time, she is either reading or working hard for FLS.

Zachary, after learning that legislation and policy were two separate terms in Secondary 2, was intrigued by the complex processes of governance, sparking his desire to uncover how law was truly involved and applied in our lives. He reads on political and social issues for entertainment in school, being interested in diving deeper on the implications of social policies beyond just what the media states. Beyond academics, he enjoys looking at avant-garde designs in fashion magazines and appreciating the arts from an experimental perspective.

She founded her junior college’s Law Society and later created LexAware SG, an AI-powered project designed to make legal knowledge less intimidating and far more accessible to young people. Having spent years debating, leading and occasionally arguing her way through policy and legal spaces, she enjoys breaking down complex ideas into clear, engaging conversations. She hopes to pursue legal studies internationally and is driven by the belief that law should be sharp, humane and actually useful beyond the courtroom.
